I always look forward to getting into the shower in the morning (keep reading… I’m going somewhere with this). Not necessarily because I need to get clean, or because the house is cold and a hot shower is the ticket. It’s because I get so inspired in the shower. Seriously, I get a lot done too.
I just woke up about 30 minutes ago because I couldn’t get back to sleep because of a certain song in my head, (“…and the trouble is we don’t know who we are instead…”) and discovered how much I needed to get done this morning. Got into the shower and I began putting order to my day (gotta do my budget, check my email, update a few websites, get some songs ready for recording, etc).
Yet what’s the first thing I do when I get out of the shower (besides dry myself, get dressed, make myself pretty, etc.)? Cup of coffee.
Since I went to bed arond 2am (couldn’t stop laughing after seeing “School of Rock”), waking up at 6am was as if I had just taken a Sunday afternoon nap. So imagine my reaction to the strong, steaming hot sensation that is my first cup of coffee this early in the morning.
JOLT!
I swear, I think it picked me up off of my two feet, yet put me down ever so gently.
Now I’m ready to get moving this morning. A lot going on today, almost seems like I won’t get it all done, but I can only do my best and hope it all works out. I guess I’m kinda nervous because I’m going into the studio today to watch two other musicians lay down tracks for my CD, and I’m scared I’m going to be a control freak like usual and not be satisfied with anything they do, when in all reality they’re adding some components to it that would be missing if I had chosen to record every instrument myself.
Wait and see, I really think you’ll love the final project. It’s coming soon!
